University students’ communication in learning settings and basic psychological needs: a latent profile analysis of their interrelationships

This research investigated the intertwined nature of university students’ communication in learning settings and their satisfaction/frustration basic psychological needs. To do so, it collected data from 307 students explored patterns defined by interrelationships among achieving goals, feeling confident about communicating settings, being satisfied with instructors. In addition, assessed degree to which groups who had different regard these factors significantly differed terms satisfaction frustration needs for autonomy, competence, relatedness. examine aspects latent profile analyses were conducted. Findings show that three (that is, classes or profiles) parsimoniously represented communication. Notably, profiles illustrated more adaptive associated both stronger weaker than reflected less patterns.
